West End Construction Corp. is a Los Angeles based general contracting firm specializing in the construction and development of infill multifamily and single-family residential properties throughout Los Angeles County.

Headquartered in Culver City, the firm has built a reputation as one of the most trusted and fastest-growing contractors serving developers, property owners, and investors in the Los Angeles residential market.

West End's affiliated development platform, West End Development Partners, pursues infill development opportunities throughout the greater Los Angeles area, specializing in infill multifamily for-rent and for-sale product. The platform focuses on projects that utilize by-right entitlements, and leverages West End's vertically integrated construction and development capabilities to execute efficiently from acquisition through delivery.

Founding

Trent Klatte and David Scheurer, two project managers and owners' representatives who kept ending up on the same jobs, then built a firm together.

Current Activity

West End is currently one of the most active builders in Altadena, California, with single-family homes under construction and additional projects in the pipeline. Several of those rebuilds are delivered alongside our affiliate Green Builders Group.

West End Development Partners has also recently broken ground on its first ground-up infill development in Eagle Rock, a project that will double the density of an existing multifamily structure entirely by right, utilizing California Senate Bill 1211. Together, these projects reflect West End's continued growth and its position at the forefront of infill residential development in Los Angeles.

Trent Klatte

Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder

B.S., Real Estate Development, University of Southern California

Trent Klatte is a Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of West End Construction Corp. As CEO, Trent leads project execution across West End's portfolio, drawing on extensive experience in construction, sequencing, permitting, and design to guide projects from planning through delivery, on schedule and on budget. His hands-on approach to field leadership has been central to West End's reputation for reliable execution and its growth across the Los Angeles residential market.

Trent is also the Co-Founder of West End Development Partners, the company's development arm that focuses on infill multifamily and single-family development projects.

In addition to his leadership at West End, Trent serves as Director of Development for Urban Development Company, where he focuses on acquisitions, financial analysis, and consultant coordination throughout the entitlement and development process. Under his direction, the firm secured funding and entitlements for a 51-unit affordable housing development that broke ground in Summer 2025. He also serves as Director of Development for HTA Construction & Development, where he oversees a pipeline of more than 600 units of 100% affordable housing, including a 62-unit project that broke ground in Fall 2025.

Prior to co-founding West End, Trent served as Lead Redevelopment Project Manager for JRK Property Holdings, a real estate private equity firm managing more than $7 billion in assets. He was responsible for major capital expenditure and redevelopment projects across the firm's 26,000-unit national portfolio, overseeing more than $50 million in redevelopment work across the continental United States.

David Scheurer

Co-Founder, Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operating Officer

B.S., Political Science and Entrepreneurship, University of Oregon

David Scheurer is the Co-Founder, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Operating Officer of West End Construction Corp. He leads the operational and financial side of the business, setting the strategy and infrastructure that allow West End to scale and execute efficiently across a growing portfolio of multifamily and residential projects.

David is also the Co-Founder of West End Development Partners, the company's development arm that focuses on infill multifamily and single-family development projects.

David's perspective comes from an early career in the construction industry. Starting in Portland, Oregon, he worked his way across technical roles as a general laborer, a painter, and a site maintenance worker. He later joined an ADU-focused contractor in Los Angeles and a regional general contractor, where he helped project-manage several multifamily developments.

He went on to serve as a Project Manager for a boutique real estate developer in Los Angeles before building an independent practice representing property managers and boutique developers as a project manager and owner's representative across the Los Angeles market.

Having worked across nearly every trade and phase of the building process, David brings a practical understanding of construction economics and project execution to West End. His hands-on experience continues to shape the company's financial and operational discipline and its ability to scale with confidence.
